Triplett Appointed to Early Childhood Advisory Council

Dr. Vera Triplett, Chief Operating Officer of the Capital One-University of New Orleans Charter School Network, has been appointed to represent the Board of Regents on the State Early Childhood Advisory Council. Dr. Sally Clausen, Commissioner of Higher Education, made the appointment.
“We are delighted that the Board of Regents has selected Dr. Triplett as their representative to the Early Childhood Advisory Council,” said James Meza, Jr., Dean of UNO’s College of Education and Human Development and founder of the Capital One-UNO Charter School Network. “Her extensive experience in the areas of early childhood education and child abuse prevention will serve the advisory council well.”
Dr. Triplett has served as the Capital One-UNO Charter Schools Network COO since the summer of 2008. She was formerly Assistant Professor of Counseling and clinical director of the Thomas E. Chambers Counseling and Training Center at Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans from 2004 - 2008.
Dr. Triplett has worked and continues to work extensively in the areas of child abuse prevention and awareness and juvenile justice reform. She earned her Ph.D. (2004) and M.A. (2002) in School and Community Counseling and Counselor Education from The University of New Orleans. She received her Bachelors degree from Southern University at New Orleans in 1996.
